T.J., thanks for addressing a misconception that has been foisted on us since the days of English cleric, Thomas Malthus. Overpopulation, a diversion from the real problem of overconsumption and wastefulness, is a misconception often held by Pizza-Earthers. It's time we shed light on this issue and focus on the real problem.

Pizza-Earthers believe the world is a giant pizza, and the more people on it, the smaller their slice will be. Life is the opposite of entropy; it grows by organization. Our quality of life today is better than long ago because of population growth, which gives individuals more leisure time to take out more patents and advance the welfare of all.

Our bony skulls limit the size of our brains. Yet we do not worry about brain cell population size because brain cells organize and increase in number without demanding more resources or space. The global human population grows as we become efficient and better organized, cycling without hoarding resources. Those of us rich in family and friends are most fortunate.
