Do not become more self reliant. Do not wave at your neighbors. Talk to them and listen for how you might help. Do not go it alone. When the power goes out, join us in the street to discover who is most desperate for electricity and who had sources like batteries and generators, or extension cords to the fire station, or transport. If you think your neighbors might suck, get a life, go to the balcony and take a broader perspective. Best to recognize devine spirit in all life. John Muir would say stones, too. Get it together and together we can. You are not alone. This is bigger than climate or how much carbon in the atmosphere. Those are symptoms like a fever.
